Swedish Games Industry welcomes decision to stop double taxation

The Swedish Tax Agency on Tuesday presented their decision on the double taxation of apps issue. This means that no double tax will be charged and that also applies retroactively.

The export of Swedish developed videogames is larger than ever before, as highlighted in this year’s Game Developer’s Index where Swedish developers reported their highest sales figures ever. Turnover witnessed an increase of 22% compared to last year and employment figures went up by 9%. The industry collectively recorded positive results for the second consecutive year, with a majority of the companies making a profit.
