Mässa för klassiska tv-spel och datorer
Fair on classic videogames and computers
RetroGathering, an exhibition of classic computer games, will be taking place for the fourth consecutive year in Stockholm on 10 October.

Television and computer games have had an enormous impact and immense  growth in recent years. Last year, 7.7 million games were sold in Sweden alone. But games as a popular form of culture is really nothing new and has a fascinating history that spans 30 years back in time. RetroGathering is a tribute to this history.

- RetroGathering, is this year's big event for all those interested in classic games, both PC enthusiasts as well as videogame fans, "Anders Johansson, Chairman of RetroGathering interest association said.

At RetroGathering, exhibitors will show off old games and also have some games for sale. There will also be opportunities to test out classic games. The Swedish championship in Pong will also be decided. Pong is one of the most recognized classic video games and is a form of electronic tennis which  was released in 1975 for the consumer market. Will the reigning champion Conny "MrZzap" Ibstedt from Västerås be able to defend his title?

A panel of pioneers and veterans will also be on hand to talk about the gaming industry from the 80s and onwards. The panel will consist of Lars Jarhamn (Bergsala with Game & Watch and NES), Andreas Tadic (Team17 with Worms, Super Frog and Alien Breed, today: Avalanche), Johan Andersson (Funcom: NBA Hang Time and the Nightmare Circus, today: Paradox Interactive), Jonas Svensson (founder and the first editor of Super Power which later became Super Play) and Peter Tegelberg (Grana Software).

Since this year's event will coincide with the 30th anniversary since Atari released its first home computers, the Atari 400 and 800, and thus in practice started home computer revolution, there will be a number of classic models from the Atari home computer series on display which visitors will be able to try out.

There will also be quizzes, auctions and game theory in M.U.L.E. Saturday will end with a performance by Alex Wiklund, who will play chipmusic with a Game Boy.
